IN
THE BEGINNING...
Throughout it’s 150-plus years as a member of the Westerville
community, Central College Church has placed a unique emphasis
upon Christian Education. Central College Christian Academy
(CCCA) was chartered by the State of Ohio Department of
Education and opened in 1998, with one class of 20 kindergartners
in a small, older building next door to Central College
Church.
...TODAY
The
continued commitment and support of Central College
Church to high-quality education in a nurturing, Christian
environment is quite evident – from CCCA’s new state-of-the-art
facility, opened in 2003, to the outstanding teaching
staff, to the current K – 6 student body with a curriculum chartered by the state of Ohio.
CCCA
offers our students the best of both worlds: the fresh,
creative approach of a relatively young private school,
combined with a centuries-old heritage of educational
excellence in the Christian tradition.

We believe that young children can thrive in a smaller
school environment. Our maximum class size is 22 students
per one teacher. If 23 or more children are assigned to
one grade level and space does not permit two rooms, a
second teacher is hired. Team teaching occurs in such larger
classrooms. We limit enrollment to 30 children in these
situations. In this more intimate environment, relationships
are stronger between children, staff and parents. As a
result, many students receive more individual attention.

Our school uniform policy serves as another tool in fostering
the academic, character-building and self-respecting
environment we believe God wants for our children. The
approved school uniforms are the required dress for every
student
attending CCCA. Uniform attire may be purchased
from any of the 3 approved, local vendors. One of these
vendors makes it especially convenient for our families
by accepting phone and fax orders (and the clothes are
delivered directly to the school for pick-up) and even
coming on site annually for fittings and taking orders.
At least monthly, we celebrate Spirit Day and other special
events where students may wear CCCA-logoed sweatshirts
or t-shirts.
Much
more detail can be found in our school handbook and
other materials available in our information folder
and by request.

TRANSPORTATION
We
have been so blessed to have the support of Westerville City
Schools with bus transportation for our students living within
the Westerville City School district. Many of our students
arrive and/or go home each day on the bus. Several daycare
providers also provide transportation to and from our school.
And, many students are transported to/from school by individual
parents and/or car pools. Due to the major traffic on Sunbury
Rd, we ask that no student walk to school, regardless of how
close one lives to our school.
